Dirt RebornPrayer. Praise. Produce.
We are a volunteer-led organic garden, that provides produce for our community. We are all about feeding people, physically and spiritually.
Why a garden? Have you ever noticed that God really likes gardens? Think about it. God created Adam and Eve, and then He made them a garden to look after (Genesis 2:15). Many years later, shortly before Jesus laid down His life for our sins, He prayed in the garden at Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46). After He died, Jesus was buried in a new tomb. Where was this tomb? You guessed it, it was in a garden (John 19:41–42). Of course, Jesus didn’t stay long. He conquered death by rising again. In fact, one of His followers even mistook Him for a gardener (John 20:15)!
What We Do
- Feeding anyone who serves in our garden (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
- Equipping people to garden responsibly, with an emphasis on our God-given dominion over creation (Genesis 1:26-28; Genesis 9:7)
- Distributing produce to anyone who has need (Acts 2:44-45), through gleaning programs (Leviticus 23:22) and donations of excess produce to food banks in our community
- Stirring the Body of Christ to serve God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, through prayer meetings, worship in the garden and proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom (Mark 12:29-30)
We’re all living on borrowed breath. Literally. God breathed into Adam the breath of life (Genesis 2:7), and the Bible says “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD” (Psalm 150:6). You don’t have to ask us twice.
Faith involves action (James 2:14-26). God warned Noah about coming judgment and commanded him to build a boat (Genesis 6:13-14). Noah believed Him, built the boat and was saved from judgment (Hebrews 11:7). Well, Jesus told us to keep watch for His coming, and prepare spiritually and physically (Matthew 25:1-13).
Prayer is how we talk to God. Jesus prayed constantly, and we’ve been commanded to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and pray at all times in the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 6:18).
